About this project

A Paper plugin that runs NES games on in-world machines, drawing frames onto map items. This community fork of MoeWhite19/BNes moves the emulator core to Nestalgia, targets Paper 1.21.1 and Java 21, and streams 48 kHz game audio as Opus through Plasmo Voice. Map packets go through PacketEvents, with ProtocolLib or native Paper as fallbacks. The README notes parts of the port were written with OpenAI Codex and advises testing before deploying; players supply their own ROMs.

  • NES video drawn on Minecraft map items
  • Spatial game audio through Plasmo Voice
  • Remote players see the screen, with full-frame sync for late joiners
  • Declared Folia support
Requirements and setup

Java 21 and a Paper 1.21.1 (or compatible) server; Plasmo Voice server plugin plus client mod for sound; optional PacketEvents, ProtocolLib and Vault; your own NES ROMs.
