The technique
Two games, one screen
Most of these projects run both games at the same time. A small mod in each passes the player’s position, the camera and what should be drawn back and forth, so Minecraft blocks, mobs or Steve appear inside Skyrim, GTA V or Elden Ring. It took off at the end of September 2026 with chasm’s SkyCraft, and dozens of copies followed within days.
How we list
Found, checked, labelled
- 1
Find
We search GitHub, news sites, YouTube and X every day, and read the curated awesome-game-mashups list.
- 2
Check
We open the repo: who made it, what it needs, whether there is a real build, and whether it looks like a malware lure.
- 3
Label
Every page gets a status, its requirements, its sources and the date we last checked it.
- 4
Refresh
Stars, dates and new coverage update on their own; creators can correct or remove a listing any time.
Labels
What each status means
- released
- A build is published by the creator (GitHub release, Nexus, CurseForge).
- code only
- Source code is public but there is no ready-made build.
- showcase
- Shown in a video or post only. Nothing to download yet.
- unreviewed
- Found by our own search. The README was read automatically; nobody has checked or play-tested it yet.
- in development
- Work in progress by its creator.
- removed
- The creator took the download or repo down. We keep the page so links and videos still explain what it was.
Safety
Before you install anything
Fake “mashup” repos are spreading malware on the back of this trend. We never link the ones we find.
- Download only from the creator’s own repo or release page.
- Read the source when you can, and scan what you download.
- Back up your saves before you try anything.
- Offline, single-player only. Never near anti-cheat or online modes.
Videos play in YouTube’s, X’s or TikTok’s own player, only after you click. Many come from channels covering a mod, so every page credits the project’s creator, not the uploader.
FAQ
Questions people ask
What is a Minecraft crossover mod?
A mod that puts Minecraft inside another game, such as Steve walking through Skyrim or GTA V, or brings another game into Minecraft. Most new ones use passthrough modding: both games run at once and a bridge passes data between them.
Do I need to own both games?
Yes. These projects run the real games side by side, so you need legal copies of Minecraft Java and of the other game. No project here ships game files.
Is it safe to download these mods?
Only from the creator’s own repo or release page. Fake “mashup” repos spread malware on the back of this trend; we never link the ones we find. Scan downloads and back up your saves.
Can I get banned for using them?
Use them offline, in single-player only. Never run a mod like this near an online mode or a game with anti-cheat, such as GTA Online.
Does Mineplus host any downloads?
No. Mineplus is a list. It links to each creator and plays videos in the platform’s own player; it never hosts builds or videos.
How do I add a project?
Use the submit form with the project name, the game and a link. We check every entry by hand, usually within a few days.
