ccboy: Game Boy in Minecraft
Streams Game Boy gameplay from an external emulator to ComputerCraft monitors in Minecraft.
At your own risk. We link, never host. Safety

About this project
A Python server runs the PyBoy Game Boy emulator on your own ROM, converts each frame to ComputerCraft's NFP palette, compresses it with zlib and streams it over WebSocket. A Lua client on a ComputerCraft or CC:Tweaked computer draws the frames on a monitor and sends button presses back from a second touch monitor. The server runs locally with Python 3.9+ or in the provided Docker image; the client downloads LibDeflate and surface.lua from Pastebin.
- Game Boy and Game Boy Color frames on a ComputerCraft monitor
- Touch controller drawn on a second monitor
- Docker image for the emulator server
Requirements and setup
An external server running PyBoy (Python 3.9+ with pyboy, websockets and numpy, or the provided Docker image) and the user's own ROM. On the Minecraft side, ComputerCraft or CC:Tweaked with HTTP/WebSocket enabled and one computer with two attached monitors (screen and touch controller). The client fetches helper libraries from Pastebin.
