About this project
Built on IW4L, a from-scratch Rust rewrite of Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, rather than on the original executable. Pressing J on any map switches to a Skate 3 mode with its physics, tricks and grinds, and a Minecraft map called overworld generates an endless Minecraft 26.3 world through MinecraftOSS, a Rust Minecraft engine. You need your own Steam copy of MW2; Skate 3 mode needs the extracted default.xex and data folder from the Xbox 360 version. The game downloads about 125 MB of Minecraft files from Mojang on first run, and Minecraft does not need to be installed.
- Break Minecraft blocks with MW2 guns, scaled by each gun's damage
- Grenades explode like TNT
- Vanilla mobs that can be shot and fight back
- Minecraft hotbar and inventory restyled in MW2's look
- Skate 3 mode with full block collision on the Minecraft map
Requirements and setup
Your own copy of Modern Warfare 2 (README: only tested with the Steam version). Optional for Skate 3 mode: the Xbox 360 version of Skate 3 (extracted default.xex plus data folder) and a controller. Minecraft map: internet connection on first run plus curl; the game downloads ~125 MB of Minecraft 26.3 files from Mojang's servers (Minecraft itself is not required to be installed).
